Take a weekend road trip to New Orleans! You can leave home Friday after work and depending on where you live (see chart below) you can arrive in time to find a great place to eat dinner in New Orleans and/or enjoy the music and nightlife of the French Quarter or maybe a haunted history tour.. For those who live farther away you can arrive in time to check in to a French Quarter hotel, get a good nights sleep, and be ready to explore New Orleans all day Saturday. Enjoy breakfast at Cafe Fleur-de-lis on Chartres St., and then tour the many sights and activities along the New Orleans riverfront. Stroll through the French Quarter shopping at the many specialty shops and gift shops. Pick up some cool refreshing Italian ice cream at La Divina and watch the street performers. For dinner enjoy a French Quarter restaurant. If you are brave you can drive to the West bank and enjoy a great Cajun dinner at Zydecos Seafood Restaurant in Belle Chasse. Take a carriage ride, a streetcar ride, a swap tour, a haunted tour a riverboat tour AND get some New Orleans Coffee & Beignets. The opportunities for a great weekend are endless!!! Be sure to call a hotel ahead of time for availability and prices.
