New Orleans Vacation Packages and Deals

The truth is that New Orleans boiled seafood is the best! My favorite is spicy boiled crawfish or a tasty boiled blue crab. However, I am often asked where to eat boiled seafood in New Orleans? Even though there are hundreds of places to eat seafood in New Orleans finding places to eat boiled seafood can sometimes be a bit challenging, especially for visitors. This is partially due to that fact that seafood is a seasonal harvest (you can't boil frozen seafood) and partially due to the fact that fried seafood is easier for restaurants to serve. Boiled crawfish are usually available from March through June and boiled seafood in general can be found year round. On this page I will list New Orleans restaurants that serve boiled seafood / boiled crawfish. These will include any restaurant that serves any combination of boiled shrimp, boiled crabs (blue crab), and boiled crawfish, boiled Snow Crabs, boiled King Crabs or boiled Dungeness crabs. If they also happen to serve spicy boiled corn, potatoes, onions, etc, then you can consider this an extra treat. These restaurants are not seafood buffets but serve boiled seafood by the pound or all you can eat for a given price. Of course you can expect to pay more for boiled seafood in the French Quarter than in the surrounding areas.

The Crazy Lobster Restaurant New Orleans - Boiled seafood New Orleans

The Crazy Lobster * Boiled Seafood New Orleans River Front

The Crazy Lobster Restaurant serves fresh seafood and is the only restaurant that I know of in New Orleans that offers riverfront dining experience. The menu list such New Orleans favorites as Fresh oysters, Char-Grilled Oysters, Shrimp Creole, Crawfish Etouffee, red beans and rice, New Orleans Po-Boys, and fried seafood platters but I find the allure to be in their Steamed/boiled Seafood buckets. Order one of their steamed buckets and you will find yourself confronted with lobster, snow crab, boiled shrimp, boiled crawfish, clams, mussels, and Dungeness crab served with boiled potatoes and boiled corn on the cob. If such a variety is not to your liking they also serve crawfish, Snow Crab clusters, Dungeness crab, Gulf Shrimp, King Crab legs, or Maine Lobster individually. The Crazy Lobster is located on the banks of the Mississippi River across the street from Harrah’s Casino and just steps from the Canal Street Ferry terminal, Spanish Plaza, and the Riverwalk Marketplace.
