New Orleans Golf Course at English Turn

English Turn Golf Course and Country Club

In a city internationally known for its magnificent private country clubs, English Turn Golf Course and Country Club stands out as an unmatched example of a luxurious environment with superb recreational facilities. The 18-hole championship golf course is a fitting testimony to Jack Nicklaus's extraordinary reputation not only as a world-renowned player, but as a world-class golf course designer. This Jack Nicklaus designed Par 72 Championship Golf Course presents a unique challenge to golfers of any skill level. Water comes into play on every hole. Giant sand and waste bunkers guard many holes, and numerous grass depressions and mounds line the sculptured fairways. Huge tiered greens challenge putting strokes. Come take a swing at English Turn's 7,078 - yard track and come away with a bit more respect for the award-winning Jack Nicklaus designed 18-hole layout. Jack Nicklaus created eighteen unique, championship holes surrounded by an expansive waterway. At English Turn each hole is different. There were no architectural cookie cutters here, and no holes designed merely to divide residential areas. Each English Turn hole challenges you with its own personality. The greens are notoriously undulating, challenging yet fair for the club member and pros alike. The famed 18th of English Turn Golf Course was consistently rated one of the most challenging on the PGA Tour. Just 15 minutes from Downtown New Orleans. For more information call (504) 391-8018

Lakewood Golf Course New Orleans

Lakewood Golf Course and Country Club

A recent renovation of Lakewood Golf Club makes this New Orleans golf course one of the most exciting courses to play with challenging fairways, tees and greens. They added moundings to the fairways and around the greens, and some very funky contoured, fingered bunkers, which take some getting used to visually. Nestled among beautiful Louisiana cypress and oaks, Lakewood Golf course is one of the South's premier golf destinations. Award-winning golf course architect Ron Garl preserved the character of the original course, while upgrading the 18-hole, 7,002 yards, par 72 course with modernized fairways, tee boxes and greens - new improvements to an old favorite. A temporary club house offers 2,500 square feet of indoor dining, covered patio and golf shop. It's just south of downtown by 10 minutes, take Crescent City Connection (US-90S) to General De Gaulle Drive. Good alternative for play in the New Orleans area, interesting golf course, not overly difficult. For more information call (504) 373-5926
